American has implemented several pilot supply program initiatives, including the Cadet Academy and the Career Advancement Program to assist individuals outside the Company to obtain the necessary training and experience to qualify for pilot positions at the Company.
American seeks to provide the same opportunities to the employee groups of the TWU/IAM Association to participate in the Company’s Pilot Supply Programs. This program would take 24 months to complete and the selectee would be provided with certain employment benefits as part of a leave of absence from their specific classification.
The TWU/IAM Association has entered into a Letter of Agreement on how these benefits would be implemented with their workgroups. An employee shall retain an continue to accrue Occupational/Classification and Pay seniority while on leave. An employee will continue will basic coverage of medical, dental and basic life insurance for the duration of the leave. An employee will continue will their pass travel benefits for the duration of the leave.
