ATTENTION: ALL TWU LOCAL 512 MEMBERS
Brothers and Sisters,
We were notified by the Company on April 1, 2020, that a member who works on the Ramp tested positive with the COVID - 19, Coronavirus. The area that he worked has been identified and has been deep cleaned per the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Due to Federal regulation, we cannot disclose the name of our member, but the person is under medical care, and we hope for a full recovery.
If you believe you may have symptoms consistent with Coronavirus, take the first step, stay home and seek medical attention. If you're at work, notify a member of management. Most importantly, our Crew Chiefs are our first line of defense. If you have a member of your crew showing signs of being ill, notify your CSM and have them sent home. Due to this crisis, occurrences are not being issued for attendance If you test positive or self-quarantine by a doctor.
Take steps to protect yourself by washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after you cough or sneeze. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. Also avoid close contact with people who are sick. The CDC recommends that you wear a facemask if you're sick, but a facemask is not needed if you’re not.
Clean and frequently disinfect surfaces daily. If you feel that your work area has not been cleaned, please call your CSM. Working together is the best possible defense. Your safety and the safety of your family will always be a priority to TWU Local 512.
Sincerely and fraternally,
Juan Elvira
